“figures, zebra crossings, traffic lights, street lights, bridges, birds, transitions, blue mist, city skylines, antennae - vocabularies for future selves”
artist notes (2018 - 2020)
Concept
Nexus is a video installation; an immersive environment which explores themes of transition and in-betweeness. Two synchronised projections upon the facing walls of a corner in the exhibition space, create an ambient environment where walking figures, birds, geometric elements cross a vast landscape of pulsating blue mist before everything disappears into one another at the corner where a thin white light ray exists. The corner as a metaphor, a space where two lines, planes converge. Nexus focuses on the poetics of space; creating a space to think and contemplate.
