Curate our Traumas
[ 100 years Joseph Beuys exhibition ]
Concept
The work focuses on the spatial and poetic aspect of the personal and collective trauma in order to reveal qualities and processes of care, of reflection, attentiveness and healing. Trauma can be thought as a scar, a shock, a psychic or fleshy cut upon the inner and outer body, a separation from or a division of what was initially united and cohesive. This text-based installation reflects on what is our trauma, its trace, its psychic coordinates and roots, having mirror as a surface and material for instant reflection of human into the sentence. The work was conceived for the life of Joseph Beuys, making a spatial and performative comment on his traumatic experiences and objects (fat, wax, felt) he chose to accompany his gestural performances.
